1981 Ron Holland 52 – Proven Bluewater Capability
The
1981 Ron Holland 52, SAOIRSE, presents a distinctive opportunity for sailors seeking a capable and extensively upgraded bluewater cruising yacht. Ron Holland drew her purposeful lines, while Tai Chao Bros constructed her GRP hull in Taiwan for Ventura Yachts.
Her cutter-sloop rig, fin keel and skeg-hung rudder support balanced and confident sailing on extended passages. Moreover, her strong construction and practical deck arrangement suit long-distance cruising and offshore adventures. The owners have also maintained and upgraded her consistently throughout her life.
Comfortable Three-Cabin Accommodation
Below deck, the Ron Holland 52 offers a welcoming three-cabin layout for up to seven guests. The spacious aft cabin includes a double berth, a single berth, an en-suite head and direct access to the aft platform.
Forward, two additional guest cabins provide comfortable sleeping arrangements and useful storage. A second head serves the forward accommodation. Meanwhile, teak joinery, practical flooring and generous storage create a warm yet functional cruising interior.
The saloon features L-shaped seating, an adjustable dining table and additional bench seating. Furthermore, a dedicated navigation station supports passage planning and offshore operations. The linear galley includes double stainless-steel sinks, a three-burner gas hob, an oven and a two-drawer fridge-freezer.
Extensively Upgraded Ron Holland 52
Continuous improvements bring modern comfort and dependable equipment to this classic sailing yacht. In 2017, the owners installed a Nanni N4.115 diesel engine and ZF gearbox. The engine recorded approximately 730 hours in August 2025.
In addition, a Frigomar air-conditioning system joined the equipment inventory in 2020. The owners upgraded the electrical system in 2023 with an 800 Ah lithium house bank, Victron charging equipment and solar power management.
The comprehensive Raymarine navigation package includes radar, chartplotter, autopilot, wind instruments and GPS. Other cruising equipment includes a Spectra watermaker, an electric anchor windlass, a Highfield tender and a Mercury outboard.
The recent hull and topside refinishing, with Coppercoat applied in 2024. These improvements complement her teak cockpit and side decks, offshore sail inventory and practical cruising systems.
Currently lying in Phuket, Thailand, this
1981 Ron Holland 52 combines respected design, substantial equipment and comfortable accommodation. She offers an appealing platform for extended cruising, liveaboard use or future bluewater adventures. Contact Boat Lagoon Yachting to arrange a viewing or request further information.
