Have you ever imagined cruising the Andaman Sea aboard a luxury yacht, marvelling at the surrounding natural beauty as you weave through monolithic limestone cliffs rising effortlessly from the ocean? Such an experience awaits you in Phuket – a world-class destination

The tropical Thai island of Phuket is one of Asia’s most popular yachting destinations, thanks in part to its superb location in the heart of Southeast Asia, its longstanding history of maritime exploration and trade, and current reputation as one of the world’s top tourist locales. Few destinations in the world can beat Phuket as a launch site for a luxury holiday, particularly in the current climate.

A Safe Holiday Environment

As the global population attempts to navigate the confluence of challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic, Thailand has emerged as one of the safest countries to live in and visit. Thanks to strict domestic protocols in early 2020, and an iron-tight process to monitor and quarantine all international arrivals into the Kingdom, Thailand has earned recognition for its commitment to containing COVID-19. The country’s strong efforts afforded it the ability to safely welcome in tourists in the back half of 2020 through the creation of the Special Tourist Visa (STV).

The STV allows long-stay tourists to enter Thailand for 90 days with the option to twice extend the visa in-country for an additional 90 days at a time. All visitors must complete a 14-day quarantine in an approved hotel, after which they can travel the country freely.  Phuket International Airport welcomed in the very first 120 STV tourists, highlighting Phuket’s place as one of the world’s top destinations.

Aside from the dozens of luxury hotels and villas up and down its east and west coasts, Phuket provides endless opportunity for luxury activities. Whether it be aquatic sports like jet skiing, scuba diving, stand-up paddle boarding and surfing or on-land recreations like hiking, visitors to Phuket will always have something exciting to do.

Charter a Yacht on Your Next Holiday

Chief among the luxury activities that showcase Phuket as a premier destination for Thais and foreign visitors is yachting. Yachting in Phuket is a great way for families or groups of friends to explore the natural beauty of the Andaman sea while enjoying the freedom and luxury of your own vessel.

Phuket is considered the playground for pleasure boating in Asia, and not only for boat owners; charter opportunities are numerous.  Boat Lagoon Yachting offers a wide range of chartered luxury boating options, including powerboats, sailboats, yachts, and superyachts catering to the uber-wealthy. We are Southeast Asia exclusive representative of Burgess, an experienced and award winning brokerage firm for superyachts.

Each chartered boating experience with Boat Lagoon Yachting includes a skilled crew trained in the renowned art of Thai hospitality and offers an experience like no other where you can enjoy unique moments with your loved ones or family in total safety and privacy. From shore to sea, our staff is committed to upholding COVID-19 health and safety measures as directed by local government and health officials.

With deep blue water, breathtaking islands and beaches to visit, and the iconic limestone cliffs, boating in Phuket feels more like a dream than reality. And, because of Phuket’s popularity, the on and offshore facilities to accommodate yachts and boats are substantial and abundant; yacht owners can expect impeccable ground service at marinas.

Fully Explore the Andaman Sea

Many charter boats and yachts in Phuket embark on multi-day, island-hopping excursions across the Andaman Sea, including locations in nearby Krabi and Phang Nga. Given the natural layout of the Andaman Sea, Thailand’s southern provinces are well suited for exploration by private boat.  While many have heard of the idyllic Koh Phi Phi, breathtaking Pileh Lagoon, and famous Maya Bay (the filming location for Leonardo DiCaprio’s “The Beach”), there are a handful of smaller, more remote islands for you to spend the day exploring.

Sail over to Koh Kudu and Koh Roi, perfectly peaceful islands where you can lay down and calm your mind amongst tranquil nature, or to Koh Hong, Koh Yao Noi and Koh Yao Yai, and Koh Racha for a more lively scene. Adventurous yachters can even set a course for the pristine Koh Ngai or the remote Koh Lipe located across the Andaman Sea.

Launching from the western side of Phuket opens the door to explore and visit the Similan Islands and Surin Islands. At the Similan Islands you will experience a group of nine Islands known for their coral-white beaches, crystal clear waters, picturesque landscapes, and for being home to many sea turtles and other aquatic life. These rarely visited islands comprise two national parks and are located around 13-20km from the shores of Khao Lak. Visiting these stunning islands aboard a luxury yacht is the pinnacle of boating in Phuket and the perfect way to appreciate the Thai island experience.

A holiday on a private yacht is akin to staying at your own private resort where you can relax, have fun, and even work if you need to. In the midst of a pandemic, where social distancing and seclusion from crowds and chaos are a priority, few options for luxury travel trump a long-stay holiday in Phuket, and there is no better accent to an exotic trip to a tropical island than to revel in a luxury yachting experience.
